JOIN OUR TALENTED TEAM OF CRAFTSMAN!

Are you tired of doing production work and want to enhance your metal fabrication and welding skills? Look no further! As a Blacksmith at HWWS, you will have the amazing opportunity to create custom components for a wide range of vehicles, including Hitch Wagons, Stagecoaches, Cannons, and basic wagon parts.

A FEW THINGS WE THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW…

Before we jump into the job duties for the blacksmith position, we want to assure you that we completely understand that some of these responsibilities will require training. We know this line of work is a bit different than most people are used to, which is why we're looking for someone with a unique skill set that we can help shape and train to fit the position.

You will work with various metals such as stainless steel, mild steel, tempered steel, tool steel, and brass. You'll get to learn the art of forging and shaping components by "eye", allowing you to be creative and satisfied with the products you make.

Beyond just technical skills, we need someone with a sharp eye, a creative mind, and a strong work ethic. Someone open to discovering and learning exciting new techniques that are not commonly seen in today's world.

If you're interested in expanding your current skills and exploring new aspects of your craft, you might just be what we are looking for.

FAMILIARITY WITH THE TECHNIQUES

The craftsmanship at HWWS is deeply rooted in the traditions of the “Old West." Therefore understanding the techniques, materials, and processes used by these craftsmen will allow our team to maintain the authenticity and historical accuracy that our customers value.

TRANSFERRING DETAILS FROM PHOTOS TO PRODUCTS

We take pride in creating products that closely resemble their historical counterparts so as a craftsman, your ability to accurately transfer the details of vehicles and their components as seen in reference photos or historical documentation to the products we manufacture is key. This attention to detail ensures that our customers receive truly remarkable reproductions.

WORKING WITH INCOMPLETE DRAWINGS & BLUEPRINTS

Sometimes, you will need to rely on incomplete drawings and blueprint plans to bring our projects to life. Having the ability to fill in the missing pieces and proceed from initial construction to the finished product is highly valued.

COLLABORATIVE DECISION-MAKING

As a member of our team, your ability to work well with others and contribute to decision-making processes is greatly appreciated. We understand that by leveraging the diverse expertise within our team we can deliver superior results to our clients.
